Grateful Fred’s have been pioneering Americana and Roots music in Formby, Southport and Liverpool since 2010 and during that time have presented some of the best US, Canadian and World artists.

On the first Wednesday of every month, join the Fredhead’s at The Atkinson for a wonderful night of live acoustic music.

The Club Night:

7.30pm – The Silver Fred’s
8.00pm – Igloo Hearts
8.40pm – Interval
9.00pm – Rachel Croft

Featured on Netflix and BBC 2, London-based alt-rock artist Rachel Croft delivers cinematic songwriting, powerful vocals, and magnetic performances. With global press acclaim, major brand features, and sold-out shows across Europe, she continues her rapid rise in 2024.

Katie and James of Igloo Hearts return to Grateful Fred’s after Katie’s acclaimed appearance on Channel 4’s The Piano. They now also host “The Blue Lantern Sessions” in Chester, showcasing top acoustic artists from the UK and beyond.

The Silver Fred’s open and host the evening.

Rachel Croft

Those of us who were at Grateful Fred’s last April will remember what an amazing voice Rachel Croft has. She performed a terrific set and blew everyone away with her vocal range and her choice of material. Well, lucky for us, she’s back and we cant’ wait.

Here’s a little bit about here for those who weren’t’ there last year: Featured on Netflix and BBC 2, Rachel Croft is an “emotive and uncompromising alternative artist at the top of her game” (Atwood Magazine) wielding exceptional vocals, cinematic song writing and an electrifying stage presence.

Based in London, Rachel’s thunderous alt-rock works have premiered in leading global outlets such as CMT and the BBC, and play on rotation in-stores across some of the largest retailers of the UK and beyond, including Tesco, Waterstones and Centre Parcs.

Rachel has graced iconic venues such as the Bitter End in New York and the Bluebird Café in Nashville, as well as Bush Hall and The Camden Assembly in London. Other live highlights include festivals such as Cambridge, Secret Garden Party and Black Deer, and selling out venues all across Europe on regular tours annually.

2024 saw Rachel take to the stage at the Blue Room in the O2 arena, work with Gibson Guitars, feature as Café Nero’s Artist Of the Month (February) and completely sell out blistering headline shows at both The 229 in London and The Crescent in York. It’ll be another great show so please get your tickets early.

Igloo Hearts

After welcoming Rachel back to Grateful Fred’s we will also be delighted to welcome back Katie and James of North Wales based folk-duo Igloo Hearts who performed last at Grateful Fred’s in December 2023.

Since then many of you will have seen Katie’s appearance on Channel 4’s “The Piano” alongside Lang Lang and where fellow judge, “Mika” described her audition as ‘One of the best piano and vocal performances they had ever seen’.

Katie and James have also started their own monthly music series, “The Blue Lantern Sessions” in Chester, where, like here at Grateful Fred’s, they bring in some of the leading acoustic music performing in the UK and beyond.
