Encounters of the Ghostly Kind with Professor John W Walker

“I have never believed in Ghosts – that is, until one snow covered nightshift at RAF Waddington in the Winter of 1977! The start of my paranormal experiences took place in 1977, when I was convinced that there are Ghosts moving amongst us – the question is, how can this be? Is it some form of time-shift or lapse? Or is it unexplained paranormal activity? That said, one fact is for certain, I know what ‘I’ witnessed as I was on patrol accompanied by another person, who fully corroborated the sighting! On the image below the red circle marks the spot of the sighting on the Airfield of RAF Waddington.

The history of RAF Waddington witnesses many tragic losses of Aircrew, of which there are many which gives testament to the brvery of those young men, fighting a war from the air. One such example is that of Lancaster LM223 23/24/44 engaged with the mission Ladbergen (Germany) who failed to RTU – with all crew lost. This but one sad example of the traumas which took place associated with the base in Lincolnshire.

The Aircrew of LM223 Fg O% Staples Fg O% McCall WO Stinson Flt Sgt Hurst Flt Sgt Davis Post that nightshift I was convinced that there is power of presence which walks amongst us – with many other encounters over my 22 years’ Royal Air Force Service, most of which were airfield, and Siegfried Line related. Notwithstanding that pre that winter of 1977 I was sceptical of such phenomena – but that said as of today, I am fully convinced and a believer that such paranormal activities are amongst us – please allow me to present my first-hand encounters.”
