Join musician Dennis Conroy to hear stories of seeing The Beatles live at The Cavern before The Beatles recorded Love Me Do.
Dennis played the original Cavern many times after seeing The Beatles play there and has gone on to play with many different groups from Liverpool. He has appeared on the same bill as, Pink Floyd, The Move Ike and Tina Turner, Jerry Lee Lewis, Humphrey Lyttleton, The Hollies and many others.
Were You There When The Beatles Rocked Southport?
Between March 1961 and October 1963, The Beatles played around 30 gigs right here in Southport — across nine different venues! Back then, they were just starting out, often warming up for acts like Joe Brown at spots including The Little Theatre, The Kingsway Club, and Cambridge Hall — now known as The Atkinson.
As part of an exciting new museum display, we are collecting stories, photos, and memorabilia from this incredible time in music history.
