Many of us take for granted the ability to read. But for some people, learning to read can be a challenge that they face later in life. This is the story of Peter Lloyd, a man who learned to read in his 40s.
The article discusses the impact that not being able to read had on Mr. Lloyd’s life. He felt embarrassed and depressed about his inability to read. This affected his confidence and made it difficult for him to do many things that most people take for granted.
With the help of a volunteer tutor named Alison from the charity Read Easy, Mr. Lloyd was finally able to learn to read. This has made a positive difference in his life. He is now able to do things that he could not do before, such as choosing his wife’s birthday card by himself.
