You may recognise our Box Office Assistant Margaret from around The Atkinson! Her father was a courageous member of the Lancaster Bomber Command during World War II. She and her sister Maureen proudly contributed precious ephemera to Suhail Shaikh’s sculpture of the front section of a Lancaster Bomber titled ‘The Many’, and had the opportunity to affix it themselves.
When the exhibition opens, the cardboard structure is covered in military ephemera donated by veterans and their families, and will rest on a bed of poppies created by the local community.
