The first week in June celebrates the contributions made to the community by those who give their time, skills and knowledge voluntary for the benefit of others. At The Atkinson we are celebrating our amazing volunteer team during this National Volunteers’ Week (1 – 7 June) with a heartfelt thank you.
Our volunteers support us to make our visitors feel truly welcome and share their knowledge and enthusiasm generously. We have a large team supporting our museum and galleries, our education programme, special events and a whole range of other roles that come up throughout our busy calendar of exhibitions and events. They have continued to provide online support during this past year – reviewing art, writing blogs, creating online content. More recently they have assisted the curatorial team to clean the museum ahead of reopening to the public after lockdown.
